This is without doubt because so many people are switching from video to DVD format. Obvious advantages include the ability to edit footage easily if they are home movies, no loss of quality when copying as everything is recorded digitally, and of course the fact that a DVD takes up far less space than a video. But the main reason we are moving away from video recorders is purely for quality purposes. DVD’s provide a much better picture that won’t fade after being watched many times. But this doesn’t mean you can’t use that old video recorder that lurks in the hidden depths of the cupboards….
